Doggo, Mlem, Boopin’ Snoots, and More! What does it all mean?

If you’ve been around for a minute, you’ve seen me use a lot of dog terminology. Doggo, pupper, pupperino, blep, melm, snoot booping, all of that fun stuff. But not everyone is immersed in the doggo culture as much as I am. So what does it all mean/refer to? Let’s Dive in!

There are tons of words for dog especially since memes have become a thing. Memes are the source of a lot of the words such as:

  • Doggo
  • Pupper
  • Pupperino
  • Doge
  • Woofer

 

Some are more descriptive such as:

  • Floof/Fluffer/Floofer (Fluffy Doggos)
  • Long Bois (Short long doggos such as dachshunds or corgis)

Mlem – Doggo caught in the act of licking their mouth. (see main photo at the top of this blog)

Blep – The tiniest amount of tongue showing like the pup is sticking it’s tongue out at you.

Boop that Snoot – a cute way of saying you are going to poke your pup’s snoot (nose.) There are long snoots, short snoots, snorty snoots, You get the picture.

Bork – Usually just typical big barking

Boof – That small little under their breath bark that they don’t even open their mouth for.

Sploot/Spooty Booty/Frog Legs – When a dog lays on their stomach with the inside of their legs laying flat on the ground knees out.

Doin’ a Frighten – Used to describe photos or videos of dog that is scared/startled. They are usually wide eyed and scrunched back.

Heckin’ Good Boy/Girl – Used to describe any dog ever since they are all good boys and girls.

Doin’ a Protec – Describes a dog that is barking usually for no reason but thinks they are protecting their owner or property.
