Lily is back from Lily’s Lick the Bowl Cafe with a new recipe! She has made some summertime treats for those at your feets. Pupsicles are some fun easy treats that are great after a summertime walk or after some playtime in the backyard.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup + 1 Tablespoon pure pumpkin pure
  • 3/4 cup + 1 Tablespoon reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 3/4 of an apple, peeled and diced
  • Edible “Stick” for each (dehydrated stick like dog treat. I used halved jerky strips )
  • Popsicle molds

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together pumpkin puree and chicken broth.
  2. Dice peeled apple into small pieces. Reserve apple pieces from 1 quarter of apple.
  3. Mix remaining pieces with pumpkin and broth mixture.
  4. Add the reserved apple pieces to the popsicle molds. You should have 2 to 3 apple pieces in each popsicle mold.
  5. Pour remaining mixture over the apple pieces. Leave enough room so they don’t overflow after inserting the “sticks”.
  6. Insert edible “stick”
  7. Place into freezer for at lest 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Before serving, set out for at least 5 minutes before trying to loosen popsicles. You might need to run lukewarm water over the tops to help loosen.

***Original recipe can be found Here. I did make some minor changes.
