I received a text this morning that Kuda’s family had to say their final goodbye to her. Kuda was a 12-year-old Staffordshire Terrier / Bloodhound that had her right rear leg removed almost a year ago for an osteosarcoma tumor found in her femur. She kicked that cancer’s tail until the week before our shoot when the veterinarians discovered the cancer was back in her lungs.

I’m heartbroken for them and just so grateful to have been able to meet Kuda and to have captured some memories for them in our Keepsake Session last week. This is truly the most rewarding but also the absolute hardest part of my job. It’s why I do what I do though, I just love how sassy and full of life Kuda was for this shoot and it was a joy to photograph her. So please enjoy some of my favorite photos below of this lovely family in memory of sweet Kuda!
