Lily has reached Two years of remission from lymphoma! She had her every 10-week check-up on February 9th and got the all-clear again and we’ve seen no issues with her since then. Her next check-up is April 20th! It is so incredible to me that we’ve made this milestone. If you don’t know, the prognosis of remission for Lily’s type of lymphoma doesn’t have great statistics. Only 25% of dogs make it past the two-year point after treatment without a reoccurrence. I know my girl is special to me but she really is an inspiration. I did a lot of research when I found out her diagnosis and only found a few examples of dogs making it even 6 months after treatment. My hopes were high but expectations were low. I want to encourage people that may be going through the same process that no dog is the same. You don’t know how they will react to treatment or how they will do after. Enjoy the time you have and make sure you are doing what is best for your pet specifically. Lily handled chemo with very little issue. She only got sick 3 times with GI issues in the 7 months of treatment. But that isn’t everyone. Do what you think is best for your pet because like her Oncologist has told me time and time again, you know your pet better than anyone and they cant advocate for themselves so that’s your job.

We of course had to celebrate this milestone so Lily, Percy, Marc, and I went on a trip to North Carolina to enjoy the crisp air and beautiful scenery. We decided to also stage a little photoshoot while we were there at our Airbnb.
